Everyone at Mount Nod had a fabulous World Book day, where we promoted reading and shared a love of books. The children took part in a national online quiz with authors and football stars, swapped classes to read with older/younger children, had a special assembly with Miss Smith, won prizes for the 20 Day book challenge, designed book characters, wrote book reviews, played reading games, had a library treasure hunt and lots more!

A huge well done to Tommy and Daisy for performing brilliantly at the annual Rotary Club Young Musician Competition. They were the only primary aged children there and did themselves and Mount Nod proud! Ms. Harvey was lucky enough to see them perform and was astounded by their talent. Today wasn't just a fun day to celebrate Christmas with our pupils at the end of term, it was also a very special day to celebrate the wonderful Mrs Guest, who is leaving us after 20 years of supporting the children, families and staff at Mount Nod. Mrs Guest has been a familiar, welcoming face at the school gates each day and has been a huge part of life at Mount Nod. She has nurtured and supported countless children on their journey through school, ensuring that they can meet their full potential. To thank her, our pupils gave her a fabulous send off today in our assembly and made a lovely card full of lovely messages. We will all miss her very much and are sure that you join us in wishing her the very best of luck in this next chapter of her life. Bon voyage and good luck Mrs Guest, love from us all at Mount Nod.

We had a lovely time fundraising whilst eating cakes and drinking tea and coffee, at our annual MacMillan Coffee Morning. Thank you to all the parents and carers who were able to come and for donating cakes and money so generously. We raised a staggering £1097 for the charity, which is close to our hearts here at Mount Nod.

We had a wonderful European Day Language, learning different languages, singing songs and trying foods from different countries. Some pupils went to Warwick University to attend a day of language workshop where letters were translated, codes were cracked, drama was performed and lots of fun was had by all.

We had a wonderful day exploring the links between ICT, Electricity and Music with a visit from Conductive Music. We made music on laptops, by connecting electrical wires to conductive materials and learned about electricity along the way. It was great fun!

We had a great day learning about the Vikings and Anglo-Saxons as part of our Invaders and Settlers Topic. We played Viking Games, acted out myths, took part in a mock Anglo-Saxon v Viking battle, explored weapons and armour and learned facts about everyday life in a Quiz.
