School Council / Buddies
School Council
At Mount Nod we have an enthusiastic school council who are elected by our pupils. All of the members represent Years One to Six, and play an active role in school life.
Recent projects by the school council include setting up woodland play sessions in the school grounds and designing our tyre park.
Additionally, our council have been able to participate in joint meetings and conferences with school councils from network schools, enabling them to share ideas.
Our Buddy System
One of the most eagerly anticipated parts of being a Year Six pupil, at Mount Nod, is having a Buddy.
Our well-established system, pairs up Year Six and Reception children, building strong relationships that have a positive impact on behaviour and learning. Buddies spend one playtime together each week and share in events throughout the year such as their Christmas party.
Having a buddy not only encourages social skills and promotes friendships, it enables Year Six pupils to take responsibility for being good role models to their younger peers.
