Home/School Communication
We endeavour to ensure that all communication, between home and school, is as good as it possibly can be.
To this end, we send out electronic newsletters that cover events in school, important information and diary dates. These are sent out via the School Comms emailing/text messaging system and can be found on our website in the Parent/Carers -Newsletters tab and in our school app in the Newsletter section. In addition, newsletters are posted on our Mount Nod School Class Dojo page. Diary dates are also displayed on our website homepage in the diary dates quick link button at the bottom of the homepage.
Teachers will also communicate about homework and learning via the Class Dojo app. Parents can use this platform to message teachers about the work set. For all other queries, we have dedicated email addresses for each year group which can be found in the Learning tab on the homepage of the school website.
Expressing Your Views
Your views are important to us and we are always keen to hear your questions and comments. There are a variety of ways in which you can contact us - you will find these details above and on our homepage.
Speak with the class teacher
Parent's evenings are held twice throughout the year, but it is often more effective if informal meetings are arranged with the class teacher, as and when they are needed. Meetings are held in school but can also be held over the telephone if this is more convenient.
Additional meetings can be arranged via the school office or through e-mailing/Class Dojo messaging the year group teachers. This should ensure that issues can be dealt with swiftly.
Put your views in writing
Every year we send out a Parental Questionnaire which surveys your thoughts about how well the school is doing and enables you to express your views.
However, if you have some feedback, don’t wait for the questionnaire. You could send us an email or write a short note and send it via your child’s teacher.
Complaints
Complaints are rare at Mount Nod School.
We have an open culture and the headteacher and staff are readily available to have a chat in order to deal with issues promptly. However, if a parent feels they need to make a formal complaint there is a procedure that is available from the school office or by clicking the link here.
